What do you do with a Meat-Loaf-Baby?

Having just received the okay from Dr. Johnson, Ervin is seen here diving into his first macaroni and cheese meatloaf.

The new textures and non Cheerio flavor left him speechless. . .

But he was still able to pose for these few pictures.

We can't forget to show you the one who has taught him everything he knows about eating. Lizzy too enjoyed eating dinner (but she didn't finish all of it so she didn't get iced cream).

Give the boy a hand

Ervin's latest "trick" is clapping his hands. Ervin loves to sing "If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands" with daddy. Ervin will even clap on cue, if it's daddy. Ervin does just about everything for daddy, his new favorite person. Whenever daddy comes home, Ervin makes every effort to get as near to him as possible, crying tears of frustration all the way until daddy can pick him up.

Here is a picture of the two buddies just hanging out. Ervin now fully understands what it means when mommy pulls out the camera and starts cheesing it as soon as he sees it.

Happy Summer!

With summer officially beginning, I thought I'd update everyone on the Anderson clan's recent activities.

Ervin is enjoying the new world of solid foods. His favorites seem to be processed pears and yummy graham crackers. Lizzy was kind enough to share an Oreo cookie with him the other day, which he also enjoyed. Ervin is also exploring his new found mobility, to everyone's delight. He army crawls all over the house and is now able to bring himself back up to a sitting position. Another new discovery is that of his pointer finger. He loves to point at things, especially pictures on the walls. He also brings joy to mommy and daddy's hearts by reaching for them when he wants to be held.

Lizzy has just finished her second week of dance class, with one week to go. It's been interesting to see her dance with other 3 and 4 year old girls, all looking alike with blonde hair and ballet pink leotards and skirts. Lizzy has enjoyed the class but I think she prefers to dance on her own as opposed to dancing in a group. She is easily distracted... :)

Daddy is busy as ever at work. He's also getting ready to return to BYU to continue his education. He has also been busy with his new calling in the ward. He and I teach a primary class of 8-year-olds. We're excited to have a calling together. Our first week was a little shaky but after our second week, we feel more confident.

Mommy has delved into novels. With all kinds of talk about the Twilight series, I've hungrily read them and joined the other fans eagerly awaiting the final installment, Breaking Dawn. Until then, I'm reading all kinds of books to keep myself occupied during the long wait. Reading has also been giving me an "escape" from the daily mommy tasks asked of me, whenever I get a minute to myself, that is.

All in all, we seemed to be doing fairly well. We'll keep you updated as time goes on.

Thanks Grandpa!

Well we finally have a computer that will work consistently for us. Thanks again Grandpa. Here are a couple of pictures.

This one of Lizzy was taken on Mother's Day. She looks so grown up! She even let me put a ribbon in her hair for the occassion.

This one of Ervin shows his ever growing sense of mobility. He loves to roll all around the living room. One minute he is sitting peacefully on his blanket in the middle of the floor and the next he has rolled and squirmed and scooted his way to end up face down on the other side of the room. He doesn't do the whole crawling thing yet but he is still mobile and can move pretty fast.
We worked hard on Saturday to hang things and get the kids' rooms to a decorated state. Once we get things pretty wet ll settled in all the other rooms we will have to take pictures, or start giving tours or something.
